Transcend
One of the best selling shapes in the industry for 2007 has been delivered again
to you in 2008. The numerous features of this deck remain the same as last year
as it is unheard of to create a shape that rides well for a world champ, as well
as a weekend wally. We did tweak the flex a tad to find that happy spot between
smooth release and a buck off the wake. After Andrew tested several, he feels
like we’ve nailed it and provided a deck that has everything he wants but
also rides well for others. Andrew won the WWA World Championships on this shape….again.
The Transcend boasts industry first fin extensions. This allows the rider
to fine tune their edge. Instead of drastically changing the way the board
rides by removing the fins, this simply changes the edge and release characteristics.
Riding it without the extensions gives you a soft edge and an early release
from the top of the wake. Adding the extensions gives you a stronger edge and
a locked in bite up the wake. The extensions are great for rough water conditions
and riders who are not yet comfortable with their edge. Boasting a deep spine
for softening up the landings, channels carved into the tip and tail to ad
a bit of bite, and extensive top shaping to trim weight and add stiffness.
The Transcend has always been a finicky shape reserved for those who are comfortable
with their edge and enjoy the hardest wake to wake buck out there. This new
generation made it a far more friendly shape opening the door to the intermediate
rider to progress as well.
Faction Bindings
The change starts now. The new 6
plate trims roughly two pounds per pair of boots. The new Lock Jaw system that
is 60% lighter. The new Hinge movement
cleans up the boot dubbed the Switch Hinge. Houndstooth! Say it isn’t
so!! The 2008 Faction boot is beautiful. Using the new 6 Plate, this boot is
light. When partnered with the Faction board, you can’t keep your eyes
off of it. The Faction is a lower cut boot that has been designed to be a soft
upper to give the ability to poke that toe five. We have found a fabric compound
that flexes like that of rubber but maintains the fresh look of leather. What
does this do for you? It enables you to ride a boot that looks money, but will
allow you to release out of your boot on a hard fall so your ankles don’t
scream at you. The Faction boot comes packaged with the Faction board and let
us tell you. You need to check it. It will be on the who’s who list of
the red carpet this season.
Answer Bindings
Closed toe meets Hinge. For those who are die hard closed toe riders, we have
your boot. The biggest thing to hit the market in boots (Hinge) is now paired
with the biggest cosmetic thing to hit boots (closed toe). There is no argument
that Hinge is the biggest functional improvement to hit wake. There is no argument
that closed toe gives a much cleaner look. So, do the math. We now offer a
fantastic looking boot that actually has a function. Not only is the Answer
closed toe and Hinge friendly, it used the new 6 plate, the new Lock Jaw, and
the new Switch Hinge. Also coming into the market at a price that is quite
friendly as well.
